ABSA Full of Lies and Deceit!

I have had nothing but bad experiences with this bank this year. Right now I am trying to sell my property, I did everything by the book in that I gave my 90 days notice to ABSA to avoid penalties. The attorneys came to my office today for me to sign documents and confirmed that I gave notice, I showed my email in writing by ABSA themselves showing that I had given my 90 days notice. The attorney said great otherwise they can charge me anywhere from 15k to 30k in penalties. Once we went through the paperwork we discovered that even though I had given 90 days notice I am still getting penalties of over R15k! I phoned my banker who confirmed that she has my notice given on the system and isn't sure why I am still getting charged penalties so she said she will investigate the matter further. She later today phoned me back to tell me no its not penalties its a fee for changing ownership from my name into the new owners name, yet the paperwork from ABSA themselves clearly states that its cancellation penalties . This is just another case of ABSA *****ing me over and then trying to word it differently. My other issue is that my settlement on my bond after 5 years of payment of which 1.5 years I paid extra into my bond every single month is sitting at almost the same amount that I bought my place for. I went back and checked my bank statements and found that I owe more on my house this month than what I did in February this year! I owe more on my bond in 2019 than I did in 2017! More lies and deceit with no clear answers other than the usual BS of "oh its interest and admin fees!"

Earlier this year I got a phone call from ABSA telling me that I am in 4 months of arrears on my bond! Which is impossible as my bond comes off my account as a debit order which I have to date never missed a payment. This ordeal lasted 3 months of me fighting with ABSA, them being adamant that I owe them this huge sum of money which I did not owe! after many many phone calls which always ends up being a different person who has no idea whats going on but then just checks the system and sees that I'm in arrears and says nothing they can do I must pay. So I finally hired a private banker who then looked into the matter and after a few short days the matter was resolved and found that I was never in any arrears. No apology from the bank obviously!

Next issue is with my car, ABSA make it literally impossible to pay your car off quicker than the term given, I tried to set up a facility on internet banking to try and deposit extra money into my car repayment to try settle the car faster but quickly found that this can't be done. I went to a branch to go try sort something out there, after spending almost 2 hours with a branch representative we found that it cannot be done, even if I do an EFT the money ends up in a suspense account, so I was told to pay the money at a teller who will then put the money into the absa vehicle finance account, so I did exactly that. The following month I check my account and I magically owe 20k more than the previous statement! I phoned the bank to find out how this is possible and they spun the usual bs of its adman fees and interest.... Obviously this is a lie, 20k in admin fees? and interest? over 1 month??? please! I asked the ABSA Representative to pull out a calculator and we went through the figures slowly so he could follow and his lie about interest and admin fees quickly came to light and after spending over an hour on the phone being put on hold at least 10 times he eventually found that the 20k extra I paid the month before at the teller at the ABSA Cresta branch was sitting in a suspense account! Exactly what we were trying to avoid by paying directly into the car finance account via a teller. It seems that every single time I have a query with ABSA I get fed the same BS of its interest and admin fees.

Anyone looking to buy a hour or take car finance I would strongly recommend that you NEVER use ABSA as you will be *****ed in so many colourful ways!
