Absa ***** dept
A few months back my partner reported ******* debits.. we were told the matter was being investigated and eventually resolved. Then 3 months ago my partner gets a large commission paid to her from her bosses forex account. The bank contacted us to ask questions about the funds and said it was procedure to open a ***** case to check legitimacy of funds which we understood. They then told us they were waiting for the paying back to release funds which is fnb. My partner's company is going through liquidation at present which is fnb driven. When fnb liquidation asked to review our account, we were misled by my partner's Private banker as to why fnb wanted access to the account. This was a month ago, absa opened a ***** case because fnb and our private banker misled us. When absa opened the ***** case following fnb accessing our account they had discovered that there were other ******* and unauthorized debits that went off our account. The one debit was to the value of 41k which went off our overdraft and a further 15k that was taken out over 3-5 months.. this was 2 weeks ago. Up until today we have not received a refund or feedback as to when we would be receiving it. We have no funds for the past month. We have been living hand to mouth and on bare minimums. My partner's company and fnb liquidation owes close to **** and its ridiculous that her own bank ABSA cannot assist or understand our urgency. Whenever we call our private banker he says he doesn't know whats going on. When we call the call center they say 2-5days everytime we call. Absa your service is appalling. We have not paid our medical aid for 2 months and my wife has a serious life threatening illness. If my medical aid lapses i hold u responsible.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We will investigate the matter and furnish feedback once matter has been resolved.
