ABSA ***** DEPARTMENT

I was ****med into paying funds into a ********** ABSA account. I reported the ********** account to ABSA ***** line the account was already frozen when I made the call.

Therefore I believe others were also ****med to pay funds into this account. I was advised by the ***** consultant to open a ***** case at Police station get a Police case number do a sworn Affidavit at police station and send all relevant details received from this ********** account to the following email address - ********** this was all done on the 22nd December 2018.

I did not receive any confirmation from ABSA that email have been received that a case has been opened or even investigated. I have gone into a branch on the 27th December and was advised by consultant that I should have received a case number. She instead advised me to contact the ***** line again from the branch which I did. They were only able to advise that the account is still frozen and that Standard bank was also advised. I have been a ABSA account holder for many years and very disappointment in the way they are handing this complaint. Receiving confirmation that email sent to ********** will be a good start. I have done all required but not sure if email or documents was received or even looked at. Or if anything further is required. The money transferred to this ABSA ********** account was not a little amount.

Dear Customer
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
Please note that if you have been to the police station to open a case and the case number was provided to you, you need to visit the branch with the case number to open a ***** case for you. The ***** department will then provide you with a forensic case number that will be assigned to a forensic investigator.
