I can't believe that while scrolling on Hello Peter, I came across another Absa client who had the same experience as mine in 2016, and two years later, here I am, Absa has not improved a thing and I am experiencing the exact same situation...with the exact same bank and the exact same contact person... (Hey, Absa, hey Tebello, what's up?). What comes to mind is that the more things change, the more they stay the same. But I guess it's more a case of the more things stay the same...well, the more things stay the same?
So after FIVE months have passed (exactly as was the case with the client mentioned above) and having been asked for my affidavit and police case details for a THIRD time (I mean, I have already sent these documents twice, I can't spend five months staying stuck in some surreal labyrinth sending on the same documents over and over and over - what is it Einstein said about doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results?)
So, I guess at some point I have to accept that this is how Absa handles ***** cases and that another client of theirs will perhaps comment here in about 2 years' time as they are stuck in the same mind boggling hamster wheel and after 5 months also decided to see what others have to say.
So herewith my most recent email to Absa. I highly doubt a response; except to ask me for my police documents a fourth time...
"I cannot help but feel that if Absa acted immediately when I informed them of this matter, this may have been avoided. Instead, Absa chose to take action a staggering and unbelievable FIVE months later, giving the ********** 5 months to empty their accounts.
With regards to your recommendation: as you are hopefully aware, I have already opened a case of ***** with the SAPS and I have already sent Absa these police documents (the affidavit and police case number and details) TWICE. The first time I sent Absa these documents, was in fact five months ago already. Most recently, I have sent these documents to you personally. Which is why it strikes me as quite surprising that you are asking me to send these documents a third time.
I have three accounts with Absa. It is unfortunate that I cannot see this being the case in the future."
