Absa Forex: Worst Service Ever

Absa Forex and Premier are two services I will not be using in the future.

I had money sent to me via SEIFT from the UK on Friday early morning, I didn’t worry about the funds because I figured Monday I would get the funds and then buy my plane ticket.

Monday comes, nothing. I contact forex and a consultant named Reviet gives me a bad answer then promptly closes the case after one reply.

He tells me the money will take 3-5 business days. That’s strange considering how fast SWIFT payments are. I don’t buy this three to five days because FNB has always made funds available within 12 hours if not less than 6. In June, I asked my sister to receive my funds because, of course FNB aid the easiest and quickest. I don’t understand how I’m having to wait so long when FNB never takes more than a day. Absa’s Obviously holding the funds, that’s an issue because now I’m STUCK and can’t buy plane tickets and they’re getting more and more expansive, I have a meeting I’m likely to miss because of this as well. What a terrible bank. I’m definitely going to be moving back to FNB permanently because this is too inconvenient and Absa clearly unable to handle funds without behaving like it’s the 80’s still.

I’m not spending another cent on Absa and will be moving back to FNB. Forex is important to me and clearly Absa is in over their heads especially with their ******ionate bank costs- not worth it. Don’t bother.

I’m so disappointed in this bank as a whole. To have the most expensive banking fees yet with absolutely nothing to show for it? No thank you.
