ABSA Forced Insurance

I received an email from Elmarie Holtzhausen an ABSA representative claiming she had tried to contact me numerous times regarding my vehicle insurance and due to her being unsuccessful I must please attached my new vehicle insurance with Hollard insurance that will be debited on the first. No one from ABSA or anywhere else has tried to contact me regarding my vehicle insurance as I would have gladly sent through proof of insurance. How does ABSA conduct business like this, clearly this can’t be legal
