ABSA, FNB and Standard bank selling my information without permission
I have explicitly signed out of all marketing calls. I have three home loans with ABSA, Standard Bank and FNB. Today I received a marketing call from DC Credit Protect (Pty) Ltd and when I asked how they got my information, put the phone down on me. They had all my accounts, my id number. How is the POPI act protecting me here. Why are the banks selling my information to these people.

06 Mar 2025, 09:23Hi Russell. When will I receive feedback. I am so upset by this. I am going to formally lodge a complaint against ABSA via the POPI act website if I do not hear anything by COB today. I have a very pressurised job and I don't appreciate calls during office hours or after by pesky sales people and the fact that I trusted ABSA with my personal details and they are on selling it to their networks is most disturbing. I can also change every single detail of mine and ABSA will never get hold of me again.
