Absa finance and Miosa finding is not realistic or fair
We purchased a vehicle with Absa finance January 2022, from the beginning there was problems and we requested them to cancel the contract. They returned and said the dealer is working on fixing the problem. This went on all the way through to the end of the year. October we made a case with Miosa/ ombudsman. They now said the dealer- Cape Auto Traders should cancel the contract within 15 working days, pay the settlement amount and all will be done. Take in account we traded in a car in perfect working condition, we have been paying monthly installments and insurance together with an extended warrantee on a car which the dealer has acknowledged had more problems than anticipated. Cape Auto Traders even said if they could not fix the car by 2 November 2022 they would rather refund us the purchase price. I am not going to settle with nothing! We need to be re-imbursed. Cape Auto Traders acknowledged they can not fix the car.
It was explained to you that once the matter is with the Ombudsman then the bank does not have any jurisdiction over it.
We request that you go back and make the follow up with the Ombudsman.
We extend our unconditional apology for the inconvenience caused as this is not aligned with Absa Bank's service theme of customer-centricity.
Trust that you find the above in order and confirm we are closing our file herein.
Simply close the case and move on because you are not effected by the fact that we are asked to write off over R100 000. As mentioned the case with Miosa has been completed and that is why I have written another report. I have phoned Absa again numerous times and explained the situation.

We have referred this to our AVAF Dept. to advise what's the next step after the MIOSA findings. We will provide you with an update via email.
