ABSA FICA - not verified not identified

We have a notice account with ABSA used for stokvel savings. In December we spent over 2 hours updating FICA documents and taking fingerprints. The notice for withdrawal was done and we received confirmation that FICA is updated and that we can transact on 6 January 2024. Upon trying to transnact on the account, we receive the error "not verified. not identified" upon contacting the bank several times we are told that the fingerprints of one of the signatories did not register and that we need to come back to the bank. This is unacceptable as this process was done more than once and we are unable to access the stokvel funds, which has inconvenienced many members of the stokvel.

I am writing once again with great frustration. Despite providing the account number as requested, I have yet to receive any updates on the progress of your investigation from you.

Today, the account signatories visited the branch in an effort to resolve the matter, but the service provided by ABSA Business banking unit, particularly by our business banker, was extremely disappointing.

It has been nearly a week and two visits to the branch, yet we are now being told that the signatories must return once more to complete fingerprinting and update FICA requirements. This would be the third time undergoing the same process, yet ABSA has failed to fulfill its responsibilities and lift the hold on the account.

This matter must be resolved as a priority. The client has been cooperative on multiple occasions, but the inability to access funds has caused significant distress to the stokvel members.
