ABSA false advertising - tax free savings account

<p>Looking for a tax free savings option a year ago, I was fooled by the ABSA website which (still until now) says:<br /> "Immediate access to your money</p> <p>No notice period required, and you can access your money immediately online or at any Absa branch."</p> <p>After a year of contributing I decided to get some money out to do some renovations, prepare the house for a new baby.</p> <p>Cannot be done online.</p> <p>Went to a branch (Bryanston) and they really tried, phoned around for over an hour and eventually referred me to AIMS (ABSA Investment Management Services). After mailing up and down with them for weeks (don't ask them too difficult a question, you only get responses to the easy ones) I was given forms to fill and submit, and terms informing me that it'll take a day to process and a further day to have the product repurchased. And so now I wait.</p> <p>To ABSA "Immediate access to your money" means about a month. Well so far, I still don't have the money.</p> <p>I’ve lost out on special quotes received from service providers, etc. A month of home renovations. While the birth of my child looms closer…</p>
