Absa Fails To Fulfill Their Responsibility To Pensioners Home Owners After Two Initial Repairs.

I am posting this on behalf of my parents in law who are both computer illiterate and pensioners. As clients of Absa, we purchased a home from them. After about 5 years we noticed that the walls were cracking and the floor was sagging. We then brought it under their attention but they refused to repair it. They referred us to the previous owners wherein we informed them that they in fact sold the house to us. We had to wait a full year whilst climbing through the windows as a point of entrance. When we threatened to go to the media which resulted in them then only sending out assessors to inspect the house. They then realized that it is their problem and they repaired it. About 10 years later, we noticed the floor/slab were again cracking which they had originally repaired. The repairs that were done unfortunately was not adequate as the walls started cracking again and the plaster came off the walls again. We then immediately contacted them telephonically again as we did before but this time, they refused to do the repairs. We then took it up with the ombudsman who also refused us and said we have to do it independently. We feel this is still the responsibility of Absa as the repairs is still the original repairs that we started this process with. We urgently seek your assistance in this dilemma. Sincerely, Mr. & Mrs. Klassen.
