ABSA fails my 95 year old Auntie
My 95 Year old Auntie has come to live with us. She can't walk. She can't hear. Since standing in a bank queue is not possible we decided to sign her up for internet banking so that we could help her deal with routine banking issues. The arrangements had to be done in person. We had to take a whole day off work to get her loaded into a car, then a wheelchair to get to Absa Tyger Valley. Several hours of paperwork later and SEVERAL enterings of her pin number into their system and we were told we were good to go. I would simply have to log on to get the ball rolling. I tried. I couldn't gain access to the account. Today I called the Absa \help"line and spoke to Benjamin. He told me It wasn't working because I was using Google Chrome (not true since I use Google chrome to do my own banking). Then he told me it was because there was an international number attached for online verifications (not true because we hadn't even got to the point where a verification had to be sent). Finally he told me that the pin number had not been activated by the branch and that we would have to go BACK in PERSON to sort it out!!! SERIOUSLY ABSA?"""
