Absa failed to honor a vehicle settlement agreement
Yet more terrible service from Absa, the second incident following the financing of a new vehicle. This time they have failed to honor the settlement agreement of the vehicle that was traded in. The vehicle was settled on 13-Apr-2018 with settlement agreement promise of a cash-back refund to my account 45 days from day of settlement. 45 days expired 28-May-2018, and...no funds in my account. Upon phoning ***I was told it is 45 working days. The agreement only said 45 days and not 45 working days and I have planned expenses accordingly, thus leaving me out of pocket now. I have already sent three emails to Claudette Lewis and Fareed De Koker at Absa quering this and I have not received a single reply back. The first incident involving this very vehicle finance transaction was when they deducted the installment for the settled vehicle on 26-Apr when it was settled on 13-Apr. It took me many many emails and immeasurable stress to get the money back, which was only paid back in my account on 04-May. This left me out of pocket and unable to meet my other financial commitments. It is unthinkable how such a large bank with a seemingly good reputation has gone to ****. I now have a Nedbank account and their service so far has been excellent - they respond to queries immediately.
