Absa failed to close my accountt

I had a student credit card with a limit of R200.00, which I never used as it's limit was so small. When I eventually graduated and became a professional I was advised to move onto the Titanium credit card, which had a lot of trouble itself. When i was upgraded to this account I was assured by Absa branch Barberton that my previous student account would be closed. What is the point in having a credit card with a R200.00 limit? This was 2 years ago and today the bank informed me that I owe R150.00 rand in financial fees due to the card never being closed!!! They refuse to close the account until I have paid the R150.00 which i think is ridiculous. I have had multiple problems with Absa credit cards and I feel if this is not sorted out I'll take my bussiness elsewhere.
