Absa

Me and my late wife had a bond at Absa. We sold the property in 2016 for an amount which was less than the outstanding amount of the bond. Absa approved the sale on the condition that we must pay the shortfall by means of an additional loan. My wife passed away in 2017 and I app**** for sequestration of my estate. All legal requirements was done by the attorney who handled the application and the debt due to Absa was declared in the application. A letter was also sent by registered post to Absa. Creditor meetings was also held by the curator and the master of the High Court of the Free State as required by law. Absa, however, failed to claim any outstanding amount due to them. My sequestrated estate was finalized by the curator and approved by the master of the High Court. I discovered reseantley that Absa is still showing the amount as outstanding at the credit bureaus. As I was sequestrated and Absa did not claim any amount this debt needs to be written off by them and my name must be cleared at the credit bureaus. I refer this matter to the curator of the sequestrated estate as well as the home loans department of Absa's Regional office in the Free State. The matter was referred by Absa Home loans to their legal department at their Head Office and I am still waiting since October 2021 for any response from them.
