ABSA - Exorbitant Bounced debit order charges
I was retrenched at the end of January 2020 and with no income the debit orders going off my cheque account were returned. The account is overdrawn due to R3750 worth of R150 / debit order admin fees. I called the call centre this morning and they said ABSA normally does not reverse these charges?? Retrenchment was not my choice - surely the bank can reverse these exorbitant fees to avoid putting me into an even more dire financial situation?
