ABSA employee is a ***** - he stole my client and broke a done deal!

On the 19/11/2018, my client, an ABSA bank account holder, the intended purchaser of my utility vehicle, and I, had together agreed to make the full transaction and transfer of the vehicle at Woodlands Mall ABSA bank. We had arranged to complete the sale and transfer at the premises of bank with the expectation that my client would leave with the vehicle in his possession upon conclusion of the transaction.

We had also arranged for completing the necessary vehicle change of ownership documentation at the same premises at the same time.

Due to my client not having an online banking facility with ABSA we agreed upon a cash settlement.

My client proceeded to a teller to withdraw the agreed upon sales amount, but was then informed by the teller that ABSA bank Woodlands Mall branch did not have the necessary cash funds and that an order would have to be placed, which would be ready for withdrawal 9:00 am 20/11/2018.

It was at this point that the teller - Terence - took it upon himself to pursue my client into the parking lot and proceeded to have a private discussion with my client at the location where my vehicle was parked. Immediately thereafter my client became completely disinterested in proceeding any further with the sale of the vehicle, and has furthered declined to answer any phone calls, even as a matter of courtesy to establish his intent, whether positive or negative to complete the sale.

I then questioned the teller as to why he had pursued my client into the parking lot to have a private discussion at the location of my parked vehicle. I found the teller’s response somewhat incoherent as he stated he was 'highly knowledgeable regarding vehicles' and yet also stated that I had nothing to worry about and that my client would still be meeting with me at 9:00 am the following morning to withdraw the cash funds and complete the sale.

It was already clear to me at that moment that the teller had broken the deal and had interfered to my detriment and had massively inconvenienced me. Needless to say the buyer never pitched up.

The teller’s actions and subsequent loss of my client reflect extremely poorly on ABSA bank, and I consider it my duty to report the matter on a public forum in order to help protect the public from the ************ behaviour of certain ABSA employees.
