ABSA
I just purchase a house, which had a few plaster cracks, which was noticed upon looking at the property. I made an offer and all was done, as the property was standing empty, I requested the keys through the agent, as to do some cleaning etc. This was however refused by the owner and was only handed over on registration, immediately on opening the cracks for repair it was discovered that it was more than just cracks, A closer inspection by a professional builder revealed, that the foundation was cracked and half of the house foundation was sagging in. I contacted ABSA which approved my loan and I was told that it is already registered and the person said they can not do anything, I feel that ABSA who approved the property and loan should assist me as I presume an ABSA valuator did asses the property, I also contacted the lawyer who handled the sale, who also said that the previous owner was already paid. Quotations at this stage for repairs amounted to nearly R100.000. I contacted and exhausted all ABSA departments with no help or assistance with regard to mu consumer rights.
