ABSA does not trust SAPS

My son tried to open an ABSA bank account for his first new job. He had his SA ID, a copy of the ID and a Proof of Address affidavit from himself notorised by the SAPS. ABSA Phoenix, Durban stated that the affidavit from the SAPS is unacceptable. My son must have his affidavit notorised by a local counselor. This is after waiting for over 3 hours in their line. How come ABSA does not accept a notirised affidavit from the SAPS but accepts one from a local counselor. The website only say notisised proof of address. What a ****... Time for me to consider moving my bank.
