ABSA does not care about its customers.
I've not had access to my online banking in almost 3 months. I've been locked out of online banking, and when I tried to reset my password I received a message to inform me that I have to visit the branch. I am currently living in the UK. I still have financial responsibilities in South Africa.
After several emails to ABSA, every time the response is just 'you have to visit the branch you have been locked out of your account' and then a second email saying that the case has been closed. The case has not been closed, and this level of customer service is appalling.
Finally, after a message on twitter someone responded. This lady really tried to help me so thank you for that you deserve a raise. She gave me advice on how to proceed. She was the first person to actually listen to my issue and she went above and beyond to try and help me (Crystal Vergie).
Since then I have been in contact with my Brooklyn Branch - and it has now been over 2 weeks since the original contact with the branch (keeping in mind, that I followed the instructions as provided by ABSA themselves on how to sort this out).
No response to emails. Can't get through on the number. Monthly fees are eagerly subtracted from my account, but I don't get any service. You would think that a bank would really try to do anything and everything for a client that has been locked out of their account for 3 months. Will ABSA be covering the legal fees if I can't meet my financial obligations as I don't have access to my account?
The amount of "we don't care about our customers" is really clear from ABSA.
