ABSA Insurance sent an Assessor to check the sudden cracks in our wall. The first thing the ever experience assessor asked if the crack was not caused by our aluminum chairs...immediately I knew he was one of those assessors. Common sense will tell me as a non-expert that there is no way an aluminum chair could cause such cracks.
ABSA has come back to me and refused to sort the damages out, their reasoning.
During the assessment of your claim, we established the following: • The assessment revealed that the incorrect plaster ratio is causing the crazing in the plaster over a period of time. - They forgot to mention that they approved the bond based on the plaster at the time the house was bought, we did not do any other renovations.
• Furthermore, the constant operation of the sliding door contributed to the crack development and progression over a period of time. - If you look at the video, you will note that the sliding door does not even touch the wall.
This is not the first time they have refused to pay a claim. Previously, due to load shedding we had electrical problems, they came up with some other stories.
How do we continue paying high amounts of insurance when we don't have the benefit? https://youtu.be/DPHSzhA8iK4
