Absa ***** Department pathetic service and responses
C-***8 ABSA ***** Case Reference: FSZA-2***7 and ***6 and ***1
1. Absa failed to exercise its basic and fundamental duty to protect both my accounts in question. 2. Absa negligently released funds from my accounts in terms of our standard agreement. Let me explain: For every amount of R100,00 and over, I receive a notification from the bank stating that a transaction took place which allows me to respond to. In the case of the R230,000.00 that was paid by Absa from the accounts in question, NO notification was sent out but the payments happened. This is a breach of our standard agreement. 3. Absa ignored clear warning signs of a possible inside job and/or *****ulent activities. 4. Absa have a “duty of care in terms of statute as well as common law” to me and for that matter to all clients. In the two excerpts below, the reasons given for declining my claims are highlighted. This is utter nonsense and I don’t ever divulge confidential information. This is a standard reply and a weak response. With this I dispute the outcome of the ***** case lodged with Absa. __________________________________________________________________________________ Absa investigates all cases of ***** comprehensively and every instance is examined with the unique circumstances considered. Regarding your specific case, we can confirm that we have thoroughly investigated the matter with a view of resolving your claim. Based on our investigations, and in particular, the system audit history, it was evident that "Absa internal controls related to the security of your account have not been compromised and therefore to the extent that there was a security compromise on the account, it did not emanate from Absa. In this case, your card and personal secure details (Pin or One Time Password) that were issued only to you were used. It therefore seems that you have been a victim of *****." Importantly, the protection of personal secure details is an important customer responsibility. Based on these findings, regrettably, your claim of R 7,998.00 has been declined. Yours sincerely, Anny Motsepe ***** Investigation and Intelligence Note: This amount should read: R18,557.00. This can be proven from bank statements. ================================================================================== Absa investigates all cases of ***** comprehensively and every instance is examined with the unique circumstances considered.
