Absa deducting money for credit protection on a cancelled facility

I recently received a email from absa regarding a credit protection plan I am paying for my overdraft facility, I cancelled my over draft years ago ? I contacted the number and was told yes I am paying R25.00 for the protection. When I told the lady I had cancelled my overdraft I was told it was then converted to life insurance?? I already have life insurance and do not need anymore. This protection should of been cancelled at the same time of my overdraft instead of slyly *****ing my money.. I told the person I was not happy and wanted my money refunded, she told me to send a email to ***. I did this on Monday morning at 09:42, I received no confirmation of receipt or anything further from Absa. On Tuesday I again used my phone to contact Absa to find out if they had received my email and what was happening. A helpful gentleman told me he could see the email had been received and would escalate it for me. I sent another email at 10:11 on Tuesday, still nothing back from Absa. I am very upset with this service, I have banked with absa for many years having a premium account and always defended Absa when people said it was a terrible bank and I must move. Now with this kind of service I understand why so many people have jumped ship and moved to the likes of FNB who are offering extremely attractive deals, sadly I think it is time I test the waters and do the same. This is not the only issue I have had over the years but with the "dont care" attitude I fear it's the one that broke the camel's back.
