ABSA DECEASED ESTATES INCOMPENT AND SHOULD JUST STOP OFFERING THE SERVICE TO UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS!!!
The worst decision my late mom did was to allow Absa to handle her Estate upon her death. I have never come across such *********** and unempathetic service. As a business that deals with deceased estates, which they themselves get 3.5% fee for their service, where you have appointed executors treat you like they are doing you a favour. When you call, you can hear from their voices that they just don't care, like you're a nuisance!!! Instead you always have to the one emailing them because if you don't follow up, they just remain quiet. My Mom passed away in May 2023, and 16 months later nothing has been finalised. We had initially paid the shortfall of R187 859.37 and were never informed that at a later stage we would need to pay more shortfalls totalling over 400k. We were asked to submit Claims but nothing came from that. If you don't have someone from the inside to advise discreetly then you won't have any clue what is happening. They are also biased towards the co-heirs. They are also still holding on to our Mom's car keys. We were told that all would be finalised by April 2024 and few months later, still no closure. It's hard to move on and grieve properly with all this still hanging over our heads. WHAT A DISAPPOINTING JOURNEY WITH ABSA!!!!!!
