ABSA DECEASED ESTATE FICA DEPARTMENT

Good day

We are very disappointed in the way that the Absa Deceased Estate Department is administrating instructions. We are deceased estate administrators and thus have timeframes in which we must finalise deceased estate. At the moment, the FICA department takes anything between 2 to 3 months to finalise their process to accept FICA documentation. Our clients are getting frustrated with us as we cannot make any progress in the matter, and mostly all our FICA documentation which is send to them as listed on their home page, is declined. This leads to a further delay in clsoing of deceased estate accounts.

When we follow up with customer care, it takes about 1 to 2 hours for a consultant to pick up the phone and another 1 hour for them to get feedback from FICA.

This is totally unacceptable. We cannot take the punishment for Absa Deceased Estate Department's delays.
