Absa Credit Protection Plan ********* business practice
I wish to formally raise a complaint regarding the Absa Credit Protection Plan. On 30 May 2024, I entered into a credit protection policy for my credit card. Approximately eighteen months later, I submitted a claim, which was subsequently declined on the basis that I was employed on a contract. This outcome is unacceptable, as the nature of my employment should have been disclosed as a material condition at the point of sale. Had this requirement been communicated, I would have been able to make an informed decision regarding the suitability of the policy. Proceeding with the application without clarifying such a critical exclusion constitutes a failure to provide full and fair disclosure. The conduct displayed in this matter reflects unfair, misleading, and ********* business practice, and raises serious concerns regarding compliance with consumer protection and financial services regulations. I request that this matter be investigated and addressed urgently.
