Absa credit life topup taking me for a ride

Here is my problem, concerning my credit life insurance top up claim for disability/chronic illness . I had an accident in May 2017 and was hospitalised for 2days because I became very ill from the pain of my back. I then had to move from Tergniet to Bloemfontein, because I needed assisted living. I was in and out of hospital for a week at a time 3 times in the months till November, being very weak and in pain. I struggled to get all the paperwork sorted for the claim, I had to contact 3 different provincial hospitals to complete the forms which I started way before November. FNB didn't request so much info and they paid out my claim in full. Also I was requested to resend all the documents because it wasn't readable. So that wasted another 2 weeks because it takes a week for a reply and then I had to get someone to do all the documents over again.

I am very unhappy and I don't like using this word, but I'm at such a point now I'm severely disgusted in the way I and my account have been handled through Absa and even their telephone operators. As friendly and professional they sounded they didn't do their work. Because 6 times I asked different operators to hand my complaint over to dispute department, they still kept phoning me and asking me about my credit card payment. I explained everything over again and I asked them to please hand my complaint over to the disputes department. It never got done because for weeks after that I was still getting calls.

I have been called 3 times a week for 3weeks in a row by operators wanting to talk to me about my credit card and I keep telling them I'm waiting for the disputes department to get back to me about my claim. I was told over a month ago that my complaint was lodged by one of your operators. I have been waiting all this time and nothing has been done about it yet, but my credit was halved and 2weeks later halved again. I'm still being charged interest. I have told everyone that ever phoned me that I am disabled and unemployed also that there is a discrepency with my insurance payout. I am willing to pay for the debit orders that came off last after my claim was placed in November 2017, but that is all the money that you will see from me

I have been a client of ABSA since 1989 and have had a credit card since 1998 and have never had such nonsense as now. I have had the credit life insurance for many years. When it came time to pay my insurance claim on my card Absa paid out what they wanted to. I had my accident in May and claim went in on November because I had to redo the paperwork and resend everything. They said any money used between May and November was not insured. So they didn't have to pay that as stated in the terms "till incident date". I also see in the Terms my account must be in good standing, which it was. I paid my insurance and monthly due amount. Nowhere in the Terms does it say anything about having my insurance calculated from the day of incident till date of claim to be paid back to me. Otherwise I would have handled things differently. Now I was paid R7028 short on my claim and only R34000 was paid. So why dont you backdate the claim to now then my card will be paid in full (because of the dividing my credit twice) and then some. It was at R41500 now its at R10000, oh and let me mention. Nobody contacted me telling me that my credit will be halved due to non payment. So that is also something that I am very unhappy about. Because I was under the impression that dispute department was handling my claim. Well I would like this sorted out as soon as possible. If nothing happens after this email, then I will take further steps because I really feel very sad that this is happening to me asif having cancer is not bad enough. I want to leave this world with a clear conscience not worry about debts aswell.
