Absa credit card that I don't know off

On the 1st October I received a call from ABSA saying I opened a credit card worth R200000. This credit card was open **********ly on the 14th September 2019 and they granted it. Went to the bank and they said they can't help me, I had to call their ***** department (which I did immediately). Their ***** department confirmed that the credit card was issued under my name and that's all they can tell me. I don't even bank with ABSA, but they still say there is nothing they can do about it. I had to go to the police and report it or get an affidavit. I AM A VICTIM BUT I'M THE ONE TO SUFFER. ABSA say if i don't go to the police, then i will be liable for the R200 000. THIS IS NONSENSE. THEIR ***** DEPARTMENT IS SUPPOSE TO INVESTIGATE!!! WHY AM I LIABLE FOR SOMETHING I NEVER APP**** FOR?? I mean, how did they even issued this card without me being visible at the bank. maybe this ***** is happening from the inside, since they refuse to even tell me if the person has used the money or not. They even refuse to print a copy of these transactions. I'VE SENT EMAILS AND STILL NO ONE IS GETTING BACK TO ME!!! I WANT ABSA TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE URGENTLY.
