ABSA Credit card shame on you

I'm totally disgusted with ABSA Credit card services.

I have settled my outstanding balance and today I phoned the service centre to close my account. I was told that although my acccount balance is 0 I have to pay R228 today in order to close my account and if I pay from another bank to ABSA the amount will increase and if I pay at a branch or ATM it will change, each time its more then then the previous amount given. When I asked why i have to pay an amount to close an account even though my balance is 0 the lady started grasping at straws and eventually she just said I can't hear you and ended the call.

How is this even ok. You want to become debt free but ABSA wants you to pay more than what was owed in order to close your account .
