ABSA Credit Card Crazyness

ABSA phoned me and offered me a Credit Card. I accepted the offer and the card was delivered to me by courier. I submitted Proof of Income, Six month's Bank Statements, Copy of ID and Proof of address to the courier as requested. After a few days I tried to use the card, but the ATM said it is restricted. I called the branch and they said proof of address was not right. I drove the 100km to Queenstown to submit the correct format of proof of address as ABSA wanted it. Card still restricted. Then I was told the Copy of ID was not clear enough. So I drove 100km to Queenstown again and they made the copy of my ID themselves at the bank. The card was still restricted. I was then called by ABSA to submit Proof of address, Copy of ID and Proof of Income. I told them I did it twice already, first to the courier and then in person by the bank. I travelled to ABSA for the third time having all documents submitted again. At the bank I was told everything should be in order with the card and account active. Yet, trying to use the card it still said "restricted". Then last month I received a Credit Card Statement stating I owe R180-00 and this month I got another statement saing I owe just over R200 payable on the 10th of May 2017. How can I owe money on an account that I did not have the priviledge to use even once? So I called the number on the back of my card. After holding on for ages and transfered from one person to the next I was told the application was declined the previous month. ABSA offered me a credit card, I never asked for it, but going to Queenstown 3 times there and back is 600 kilometers for nothing. Plus at least R200 on cellphone costs to resolve the matter. And no, there is nothing wrong with my credit profile, since another bank financed me for a R149,000 vehicle 6 weeks ago without any hassles, and I will gladly supply the proof of it on request. I must give Lerato at the Cathcart Branch of ABSA in Queenstown credit for seriously going out of his way to help, but somewhere in ABSA's system is a serious flaw. My advice to all is to NEVER accept an offer from ABSA by phone or give any courier your personal info or documents, since untill this day ABSA is unable to tell me how my 6 months bank statements went missing between them and the courier company, and neither in who's hands it may have ended up.
