Absa credit card

I have recently settled my credit card with absa which was handed over to Lawyers . When I call absa to remove the hand over from credit bereau they are telling me the account is not yet closed from their side but I have a paid up letter from their lawyers. This is affecting my life in a bad way I need to move with my life, please.
