ABSA: COVID-19 relief sham

I was personally affected by a salary cut due to COVID-19. I have different accounts with different banks. ie Nedbank, Standard Bank, FNB & regrettably ABSA.

So I went to each website and app**** for relief. Nedbank was on the ball and acknowledged my request almost immediately, as was FNB & Standard Bank. But ABSA on the other hand, allow you to apply for relief but either they doing this to show people they care when they really don't or they are understaffed and cannot get to everyone's application. Besides the fact that nobody ever contacted me or that I was ever asked for proof of the salary cuts. I app**** for relief on behalf of my Mum. I did this via the SMS they sent and on the website on more than 1 occasion. Neither one of us received the relief,

And then to top it off, I get a call from a rude lawyer saying I have been handed over and demanding me to explain why I didn't pay. Who the f*** does she think she is to reprimand me when you are clueless as ABSA is about my predicament. And then demanding payment on the 30th of June. I clearly explained that my salary date changed to the 1st and I can only make payment then. I then get told I MUST make the payment of the 30th. That's when I slammed the phone on her.

ABSA, I cannot wait to finish paying off my credit card with you and then have absolutely no dealings with you. Your service sucks, your attitude sucks, your application process is flawed. Ever heard of a reference number? Next time send this to your customers so we can fight the idiots you hand us over to. Take a page out of the book of other banks who actually did assist their customers, without attitude or incompetence.
