Absa consultant tells me to complain on Facebook - query will be sorted out quicker.
My son set me up as a beneficiary on his absa online banking, but instead of selecting First National Bank, he selected First Rand Bank, using my correct FNB account number. He transferred the bulk of his salary into my account. Realising the mistake he made, he went into Absa Tableview to explain what happened, and the consultant told him that he would need to wait seven working days and the money which is sitting in a suspense account, will be put back into his account. Today is the 7th working day and the money has still not been returned into his account. He went back to Absa, only to be told by one of the managers that he is lying, the consultant would not have told him to wait seven working days, as he will have to wait 30 days. Further to this, it was suggested to him, that he should lay a complaint against Absa on Facebook, because he will definitely get his money back quicker that way, instead of waiting for the complaint to be sorted out via the Aba branch.
Where is your sense of urgency in assisting in this regard? This is a person’s salary we are talking about. Mistakes happen! Why would he be told seven days (he was NOT lying), and then be told a few days later, to wait 30 days. And the cherry on top, how can the consultant tell a client to go onto Facebook and complain as the problem will be sorted out quicker?
I am floored! What is customer service coming to these days - telling us to complain on Faceboo****
