ABSA committing ***** by giving me a loan I did NOT approve then being absolutely *********** with my credit card application

I went to the ABSA Rosebank branch on Saturday 23 April to find out about a personal loan and how much I qualify for. The consultant helping me, Rama, was very friendly and explained to me that they first need to call my company to confirm that I work there after which I would need to physically come in to sign and approve the loan. She called me a few days later asking whether I have received the funds which infuriated me as I had not approved this loan or signed for it. I then spoke to the branch manager who was rude and not apologetic at all, and merely said that someone will contact me. Then another woman called me to explain that the loan has been cancelled and will not reflect on my records. Then, on 29 April I got an sms thanking me for taking out a loan and telling me what the instalment is. When I called the branch manager after this she again seemed unapologetic – as if she doesn’t understand the stress of receiving a message which states that you are now 72k in debt. She apparently sent an email to me with tangible evidence that the loan was cancelled, however I am yet to receive this email. I did not agree to this loan and it should not have been processed in the first place, let alone taken this much trouble to resolve – which I hope it is. On 28 April I app**** for a credit card with ABSA and on the same day I sent the documents they required. After not hearing anything about this process I eventually called to find out what the status of my application is and the woman I spoke to said that they have received the documents (A copy of my ID seeing as I’m already an existing ABSA member) and that she will escalate my application. I still did not hear anything from them and today on 6 May I called again to find out about the status. The woman I spoke to said my documents needed to be certified, however the first woman I spoke to said they did not seeing as I am an ABSA member. She then placed me on hold and, after waiting a few minutes, I somehow got put through to customer support. I spoke to Alesha McNeal and had to retell the whole story after which she also told me that she is escalating the matter. She was rude and snotty and did not try find out whether the documents I submitted were acceptable and just kept repeating that she had escalated my application. I was not rude to this woman at all, yet she hung up on me. Is this really how *********** ABSA is? Giving out loans without consent and failing to process credit card applications that took place on 28 April then hanging up on customers when they try to find out what is happening? I have tweeted about this and received responses from people saying they will rather not do business with ABSA then, and I honestly do not recommend it at all. How can you trust a place that is this *********** with your MONEY??? I am actually considering moving to FNB as I hear they transfer all of your debit orders and payments for you and they are apparently very efficient.
