ABSA Cheque Account

In Jan 22, I paid off my ABSA over draft in order to downgrade my cheque account to a savings account. I went into the branch and they close the over draft but did not downgrade my account. I been again to the branch in March and then In April. In April I spoke to the branch manager and she said there is nothing they can do but I need to settle the cheque account monthly charge fee which is now R 650 and then they can downgrade my account. I also in April sent ABSA an email and nothing is happening. I'm absolutely disappointed because the only reason I closed my over draft was to downgrade my account as I no longer bank with ABSA BUT instead they deliberately keeping my account so they can make more money through the fees. I explained the consultant that I don't want to close my account because I already have a home loan and credit card with them and get free banking through my company so it doesn't make sense to keep a cheque account.

ABSA please stop this nonsense, stop sending me threatening SMS's and downgrade my account.
