Absa charges and competency - preposterous

One really cannot bank with Absa anymore given their excessive charges and poor service and functionality Today i wanted to query what can only be termed as excessive charges on my business account for a debit order for R152 that was not processed due to an accidental lack of funds in the account. I always try to keep minimal monies in my Absa account as there is no benefit unlike with Capitec where your money attracts interest - so i slipped up!! Notwithstanding Absa has charged me firstly R50 for the debit that could not go through - and then another R100 for the fact that the account went into a temporary debit of around R80 for 1 day. Thats R150 rand Absa charges for a debit order of R152. This is totally preposterous and unacceptable I tried to email them on the email provided - comes back as "un-deliverable" - and then using a subsequent email provided by Absa - comes back as undeliveable Finally i phone the branch - the pleasant lady cant help me with my query but here is an email of your banker ???- here we go...... Charges on my personal account are also exorbitant when compared to other banks. A R1000 cashsend costs you an Absa charge or R26 when the same would cost you R8 with Capitec Bank And then finally when i approached/ phoned the bank at Hartbee****rt and spoke to Louise who told me a Tholo would phone me back to try to get some template of my personal bank charges structure- from a bank whose staff are confused as to the ABSA complicated array of charges ( and i dont blame them) - i still have not managed to get my account charge structure from them Cashsends were debited as cash deposits on my acount- unbelievable!!! There is definitely a lack of competency at Absa Africa from the top down so it seems So finally i have given in and after over 30 years I am now in the process of closing my Absa personal account and credit card accounts and moving to Capitec where charges are easy to understand and staff are well trained pleasant and competent and also understand the product. On really cannot bank with Absa - at your peril....
