ABSA Changing My Vehicle Contract End Date Without Reason – Ongoing Contradictions (***)
I am extremely frustrated with ABSA Vehicle Finance. My vehicle finance contract is supposed to end on 25 December 2025 — yet ABSA has now moved the end date to 25 January 2026 with no valid explanation.
I have contacted ABSA several times and each consultant gives me a different story, none of which match the statements they send me or my own bank records.
First consultant: She claimed I skipped a payment in October 2024. She sent me a detailed statement, and I also pulled the transaction from my bank account. Both clearly show that I did make the payment. She then mentioned the outstanding balloon payment, which I already know about, and she could also see that I’ve been paying consistently every month since August.
Second consultant: He told me I missed payments in April and May 2022. After checking the detailed statement, he confirmed that this was not true — the payments were made. He then changed the story again and said the issue was because I took the COVID relief in 2019. I explained that I am aware of the relief arrangement, and that is why my contract end date is 25 December 2025 — It should've ended it September 2025 He checked the statements from my very first instalment in 2019 all the way to today and could not find any missing payments.
He then transferred me to another department for “authentication.” When I spoke to the lady, she had no information about authentication and I had to explain the entire issue again for the third time. She checked on her side and also could not find any missed payments. She confirmed that she escalated the matter to her senior.
This back-and-forth with different excuses is unacceptable, especially when the statements clearly show that I have paid every instalment.
Call *** Correct contract end date: 25 December 2025
I need this issue resolved urgently and the correct end date restored. This is causing unnecessary stress, and ABSA needs to provide a clear, accurate explanation.
The payment that you said I’ve missed is not true. I remember I have never missed any payment. I’m not sure if the bank will have the statement for that year but I’ll go and check.
Please correct the nonsense you’re telling me.

- The first consultant said I missed a payment in October 2024,
- The second said April–May 2024,
- And now I’m being told by you December 2020.

They came back to me again today with a new claim that I supposedly missed a payment in April 2021. I just emailed them my bank statement showing the debit went off on 29/04/2021. I’ve proved this multiple times already with different dates they claim I “missed,” and I honestly don’t know what to expect anymore. It’s worrying — because if you don’t check your statements carefully, it feels like Absa can just take your money like this without you even noticing.
