Absa Cape Gate
I walked in to the bank that had a handful of customers. Awesome, so my banking will go quick. I desperately needed to deposit a large sum of cash. First, I got ignored by all the staff. When, finally, a lady came from the back, I was directed to Bulk Deposits. As I walked in, 3 banking staff was converging in conversation. I made it known that a customer is waiting. Nope, still ignored. I walked out and asked for the manager. The one gent, staff member, that was part of the chat group, came over. I told him the issue and asked for the manager. He didn't respond and walked straight to the back. Finally, a lady directed me back to Bulk Tellers. Once there, the male teller was rude and when I told and showed him the cash, he directed me to the ATM, saying it's cheaper to deposit money there. Since when does a bank refuse a customer? What is it to you what I pay in fees? Just because I was an upset client, due to extremely bad service, I got treated like ****. Does Absa not need their customers anymore or is this the new norm in that industry? Do we now work for them or do they work for us? I demand a salary and free banking services, then.
