Absa busy messing up my credit record. Terrible

I have been paying my loan account on the last day of the month for the past few months, I am always paying before the new month so I don't get any negative record. Despite my effort to update my record, absa has seen the need to go and mess it up. On the 2nd of October upon me checking my credit report, to my surprise I realised that my absa loan amount showed a late/missed payment for the month of September. I picked up the phone and called Transunion to enquire about the update, I was informed that absa had updated with the information as reflected on my record. Hoping this was some kind of a mistake that could be resolved quickly, I called absa loans enquiry to ask if my payment had not come through for the month of September and it was confirmed to have come through successfully.

With this information, I asked the call centre agent how it could be that my payment was received successfully in September, yet absa went on to update the the credit bureau incorrectly. After a few minutes of holding the line, the lady returned to the line with information that she can see that the payment came through on the last lady of the month, so she could not see as to how it could have come to that. She further informed me that my account needed to be recapitalised as I had been paying slightly more than my monthly instalments, but because she could not be on more assistance, she then gave me a number to call to find out what could have happened.

When I called the number she had given me, I was told that my account was up-to-date and not in arrears as per the update that was sent to Transunion. The lady also went on to confirm that my loan account needed to be recapitalised and provided a number to call ITC department and ask them to update my account correctly. After many attempts and holding the line for unacceptable times, I still could not get hold on anyone at the ITC department. I then called the call centre again with the hope of another number, maybe that works this time. I was again given the same number as before. After a few more unsuccessful tries to get through to ITC, I decide to go to the branch. I told them my issue and I was asked to come back on a week day of which I did, yet I could not receive any help on this matter.

What worries me is that, absa always updates Transunion mid month together with my credit card, yet on this month they had negatively updated my loan amount and not my credit card account, this is despite the fact that I paid them both on the same day. Today as I write this complaint, well into the month, my loan account is not yet updated on Transunion.

As a result of this negative update, my credit score fell 11 good points in a day, the 11 points it had take a few months to build up. From now on, I am going to be very careful when doing business with absa, maybe everyone should. Also I will be pushing to settle my loan account and credit card by January and cut all ties with this bank that does not care about it clients.

<br **********
********** 005
