ABSA Business banking, what a joke

Upon opening a business account with ABSA there was no consultant available for at least a week so I had to travel to Bronkhorstspruit for Pta to open an account. The chequebook took more than a month to be delivered to the branch as some idiot at the ABSA head office in all the incompetence decided to cancel in for on reason. I app**** for a credit card to handle the online purchases and subscription for the business more than two months ago, but still have not even got a single reply after 19 inquiries into the status progress. The card machine which we app**** for at ABSA also took almost a month to be installed and barely works only some times. This is a business that have been in operation for 18 years but under a new Pty now so when I app**** to purchases another delivery vehicle I was informed that the account needed to be more than three months old before we can apply for vehicle finance. The account is now 7 months old and upon our latest application we were informed that the account now needs to be at least 2 years old ***??. The business is 18 years old and was purchased cash with no assistance from any bank. To make matters worse and employee of the business have also app**** for vehicle on the same model vehicle as the delivery vehicle and his finance was approved, so in short if you want a bank that is going to be responsive in any way what so ever talk to any of the other banks even a loan shark will have better intensions for your business.

Yeh right, the standard reply, how original and proactive, but how can one expect something more from a bank like ABSA. Let me teach you a little something about business; all I expect from my bank is to be a BANK. Don’t offer me all kinds of “advantages and loyalty points” that I end up paying for in the end anyway. If I could run my businesses without the involvement of a bank I would have done so long time ago. I’ve lived in Europe for some time and therefore I’m well aware what a financial institution should operate like and believe me ABSA does not even vaguely resemble what roll a financial supplier should be foe fulling for their customers therefore, as soon as I have matters amended at my suppliers and fleet customers, both my businesses and ABSA will be parting ways as ABSA is just interested in milking their customers for every possible cent (it’s called philanthropy) and have no interest in solving matters in any way what so every. Just read the reviews on the net, it proofs my point and anyone should be ashamed to be associated with ABSA.
