ABSA building Insurance - waste of time and Unable to action Insurance

Hello , I have been paying ABSA building insurance for over 15 years . when there is a problem ABSA always seem to decline my claim making some excuse or reason.

What is the purpose of insurances" to have peace of mind "

I have had property damage due to the 2022 floods and ABSA declines my claim.

I would like to escalate this to the OMBUDSMAN or BOARD that controls these insurances

Hello Rezona Louw
Claim number *** / ***
Looking at the comments raised , I have concerns and questions to rectify your findings.
1 Your appointed assessor has noted that the concrete topping is too thin ( please advise what is my current concrete thickness and what is the correct concrete thickness that should be used ) . In order for the assessor to make this comment he has to have his statistics in place so please share this information. current VS should be.
2. The assessor has indicated that this is a pre-existing condition and happened over a period of time ( please request the assessor to send me proof of the pre existing condition and for how long ago did this take place - to validate his statement ) please specify in a time frame.
3. The damage I'm claiming for is not gradual but only became visible during the Easter flood rains that KZN experienced . Prior or before these rains/floods the floor damage was not visible and your Assessor has No proof that it was. SO WHY MAKE A STATEMENT THAT WAS PRE EXISTING.
4. The patch work of concrete that the assessor identified was not my concern because that was away from the damaged area and that this was done due to me upgrading my plumbing.
5. The reason the assessor was sent to my property was to give ABSA and myself a quotation for the cost of repairs , which clearly in this case is not done YET but yet the service provider gets paid for his report out of My insurance funds.
6. I also require that you send me credentials and qualifications of the assessor that visited my property.
7. I have with me quotations/ reports from other reputable contractors that deal with other banking institutes that indicate otherwise and oppose ABSA reports.
8. Please supply me with the actual report from the assessor.
9. When ABSA accepted my insurance application why did ABSA not send an assessor over to my property to ensure that before accepting my money that All is in order.
WHY IS THERE A PROBLEM WHEN IT IS TIME FOR CLAIMS ONLY - ALTHOUGH YOU TAKE MY MONTHLY PAYMENT WITHOUT CRYING OR COMPLAINTS. ??

regards
Absa

Hello ABSA customer care , I am really unhappy that ABSA refused to assist with regards to my damages caused but natural cause which was the floods.
After second attempt ABSA again has declined my claim and REFUSE to share with me the quotation from the appointed construction company that was sent over to give me a quote for damages.
I still demand a quotation for repairs from ABSA and it should not be hidden away from you.
I am entitled to this by Law.
How is ABSA insurance department assessing a claim without knowing what is the cost of the damage.
Is ABSA not seeing through the claim because I have a small amount of money owing to the bank bond therefore refuse to pay out the claim due to this.
Why is ABSA taking my monthly insurance premium if they cannot fulfil the insurance.

I would NOT recommend anyone to take ABSA insurance because they always have issues and red tape when it comes to claims. ABSA can never complete a claim without issues.

ABSA is too good for declining claims All the time and yet take the monthly premiums without any problems.

UNHAPPY ABSA CUSTOMER
