ABSA BUILDING INSURANCE

ABSA was contacted regarding finalisation of my fire claim. After numerous attempts of trying to get hold of the claims handler, Marietjie LLoyd, with no success I resorted to using the complaints channel.

Thereafter, I was told that this will be resolved within 8hrs. No luck.

When Marietjie LLoyd did get in touch with, which was a week later, I was told that ABSA's internal assessor needed to do the assessment.

This after ABSA appointed DRM & Assoc. to do the assessment. Why did ABSA appoint DRM, IF they did not trust their judgement?

An appointment was thus made with the internal assessor, but the man did not pitch!

ABSA did not even have the courtesy to call and reschedule.
To date I have not heard from ABSA. I left messages for Marietjie, informing her that the ABSA assessor did not show, But once again Marietjie Lloyd has ignored all my attempts at communication.

This claim was submitted in Nov 2016, to date the claim is still outstanding nearly a year later. ABSA appointed Natal Cabinets to do the Kitchen Cupboards, however this company made a mess. I contacted Marietjie LLoyd while the work was progressing to tell her that the contractors were making a mess of the job.

ABSA used DRM & assoc to confirm the shoddy workmanship of the Cupboard contractors that ABSA hired and now dont trust DRM, as per Marietjie LLoyd and want their own assessor to check the work.

Due to the delay in finalizing this claim, the security at my house is compromised. Should there be a burglary, ABSA will be solely responsible for that.

Below are the attempts made to get results of this claim:

-----Original Message-----
From: Singh, Mirashne
Sent: Wednesday, July 26, 2017 2:01 PM
To: 'Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa' ********** />Subject: RE: Claimno: ********** Hi Marietjie,

The ABSA Assessor was to meet me today at 12.30, but he did not show.
He did not even call to say he was not going to make it.

This is becoming very frustrating as ABSA seems to be delaying things, and I'm going to take this further now.

Thanks and Regards
Mirashne

-----Original Message-----
From: Singh, Mirashne
Sent: Friday, July 14, 2017 10:54 AM
To: 'Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa' ********** />Subject: FW: Claimno: **********

Hi Marietjie,

Once again, I've tried calling but no success.
I have left messages for you to call me back, but you have not.

I need to know what is the progress on my claim.

Please call me on ********** 116 or ********** 299

Thank you.

Regards
Mirashne

-----Original Message-----
From: Singh, Mirashne
Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2017 3:07 PM
To: 'Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa' ********** />Subject: FW: Claimno: **********

Hi Marietjie,

I have tried calling you but to no avail.
Your extension no. is always busy.

Please may I have an update on my claim.

Thank you.
Regards
Mirashne

-----Original Message-----
From: Singh, Mirashne
Sent: Tuesday, July 11, 2017 10:27 AM
To: 'Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa' ********** />Subject: FW: Claimno: **********

Hi Marietjie,

Please may I know progress on my claim.

Thank you.

Regards
Mirashne

-----Original Message-----
From: Singh, Mirashne
Sent: Monday, July 10, 2017 9:28 AM
To: 'Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa' ********** />Subject: RE: Claimno: **********

Hi Marietjie,

Please may I have status of my kitchen Cupboards.

Thank you.

Regards
Mirashne

-----Original Message-----
From: Singh, Mirashne
Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2017 11:53 AM
To: Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa ********** />Subject: RE: Claimno: **********

Hi Marietjie,

Please let me know status of this claim.
I have not heard anything since your last mail.

Thank you.

Regards
Mirashne

-----Original Message-----
From: Lloyd, Marietjie: Absa **********
Sent: Tuesday, May 2, 2017 12:21 PM
To: Singh, Mirashne ********** />Cc: Hocclaimssupport ********** ********** />Subject: Claimno: **********

Dear Mrs. Singh

I have referred the matter to Craig the assessor to advise.
