ABSA Bank - Trying to collect prescribed debt

ABSA bank has handed me over to Hamond and Pole. I have not had any communication from ABSA bank or Hammond and Pole regarding this outstanding debt. Secondly, according to Hammond and Pole this matter had been closed and is no longer an active case. Thirdly, this debt has been prescribed and is no longer valid. And according to the credit act should be written off as it is older than three years. And according to the law ABSA bank is not allowed to claim payment.
