ABSA Bank trying to bully us for their mistake
ABSA has repossessed my young sister’s car saying we missed payments. When we provided proof in the form of a bank statement showing payments going off monthly for the past 26 months they have moved to threatening to sale the car if settlement of outstanding amount is not made. I don’t understand why they don’t want to fix this issue and are threatening the young lady. Is this how the bank operates in that if a mistake was made it better to bully a person than fix it. We have made calls and they promise to get back to us with a way forward but then start bullying us into settling the car so that they don’t have to fix the mess. They did not send any communication that they are having issues with payment or stop the debit order which is still going though even now. Their persons solution is we are selling the car and we will stop the debit order. What is this behavior by these bank employees that feel that they are untouchable and can do as they wish. Is ABSA the kind of bank that bullies’ customers into loosing things and getting blacklisted because they have people that just don’t care enough about what they will do to a persons life by not fixing the error. They should tell us and change their tagline to ABSA happy to take your money but don’t expect service if we make a mistake. They become rude when you contact them and tell them I have sent you my bank statement that shows I made the payment. Yes they got a judgment on the car but I am telling you that someone made a mistake and we have sent proof of that and what do they say, we are selling the car if you don't settle the outstanding amount. Why should we be punished for something we have been paying for and we provide proof. Some of these customer facing employees are wasting everyone's time and should be dismissed for wanting to get paid for not doing their jobs.
Is it an ABSA policy to try force people that don't bank with them to move their bank just because you have a loan with them. They should state it that we are giving you a loan but we will find a way to blacklist you and reposes the car if you don't change banks and start banking with us.
