Please rethink when you are considering Home Insurance at ABSA Bank in South Africa. 1st there is no body to see F2F to discuss an issue. 2nd if you send an email with your query they issue you a case number and there it stop. Absa insured my home for 40+ years only for me to discover after a claim that they insured my forwarding address home and now it is for me to fix their mistake and after they collected my monthly payment for many years.

25 Jul 2022, 19:21Thank you for your timely response. My ID number is ***. I do not have my policy number with me right now because I'm oversees at the moment. The issues. My old mortgage was with ABSA and during that time I had Home Coverage Insurance. I had in the past one or two claims with out an issue. Then I was working overseas and leased my house to someone else. At that time I changed my mailing address to my sister's house in Wonderboom South. My property and insured address have not been changed. Only now when I submitted a claim for a broken hot water geyser ABSA informed me that the property is not insured and my mail forwarding address have been insured which is mot even my house. That means I paid insurance on an incorrect house all the time. Please look into it for me. Thanks. Thys Smit
