(ABSA BANK) OVER INFLATED BANK CHARGES

I've been having problems with the high bank charges that the bank has been levying on my cheque account, despite the numerous attempts I made to try and come to a workable solution with the bank.

One would even go to the extent of logging complain calls with thier costing department, but one would always find themselves being shunted from one person to the next without getting help in the end.

Last month I queried bank charges to the tune of almost R700.00 and now again this month my bank statement again showed Bank charges that amounted to R450. 00, and I truly don't know of any other bank that charges exorbitant amounts like ABSA bank does.

One would expect that as one of the major banks in the country, ABSA would endeavor to make lives of ordinary South Africans easier more especially in the current situation where the country is under full lock down, instead the bank is *********** its clients via bloated bank charges which thier resultant effects are, the accounts going into arrears which in turn would again prompt the bank to now offer a client services that will further put the client into financial distress. It is as if the bank thrives from putting people into debt involuntarily.

I think it is high time that all ABSA clients really study thier statements because I suspect that, it is how the bank is making the bulk of their money..... And that is by levying high bank charges on unsuspecting clients knowing very well that their clients have nowhere to go when they have complains about thier accounts.

I am very disappointed and disgusted by how the bank is running its business affairs..... They are not in the business of helping people, rather they are In it to profit out of people's desparities. They should instead register as a loan shark instead of a professional financial services provider.
