I app**** for insurance with Absa i-direct insurance and it was approved. I added a second driver to the policy not knowing that when my vehicle would be in an accident on 15 December 2016 (where my vehicle was hit by a drunken driver). Firstly when I wanted to process the claim the claims department was unavailable due to the festive season and public holidays. My claim was then processed on the 20th of December and due to the car not being drivable o had to hire my own courtesy car which I was not reimbursed for and only 3 days after my claim was processed did I receive a courtesy vehicle From Avis via Absa. With that every ten days this car was to be sent back to Avis even though I was on a 30 day rental plan with insurer should I be without a vehicle due to an accident or repairs. I needed to continually contact Absa as they made no attempt to get my car to a repair centre and eventually they uplifted my vehicle. My daughter was then called in for an as*****t bearing in mind she is the listed second driver under my insurance and was asked all sorts of irrelevant questions looking for loopholes and also contacted friends and family to find out details from them eg: where the vehicle parks, who drives it. Thereafter the interviewer asked for my log book which was emailed to him, when I phoned the repair centre they said the vehicle had been removed by absa and then shortly after that a Absa employee called saying my claim would be rejected. What is the sense of paying for insurance and then they reject my claim. Where do I stand as a valued customer? Today the 25.01.2016 The repair centre said the car had been returned to their premises, where was my vehicle all this time and how do I know that it was not tampered with or potentially put into someone's care to either auction or make it their own. They have rejected my claim and when I ask for it in writing I never receive such correspondences yet if I were to not pay my premium I would be bombarded via the phone, sms and email. Absa needs to learn how to communicate with their clients. What is the sense of insuring with Absa if they treat their clients in such a manner.
