ABSA bank financial distress appalling service

I was offered a 3 months Covid relief payment plan for my vehicle finance from 01April 2020 via sms by ABSA bank , however on the 24 April a vehicle finance debit order went off on my account. I did not give them permission to debit my account on the 24th,the only agreement I have with ABSA to deduct my account for this debit order is 1st of every month.

I sent ABSA bank emails enquiring how to accept the Covid relief offer on the 23 April 2020, without a response by the end of business. The debit order then went through on the 24 April 2020. I then went to the BAYSIDE BRANCH ( TABLEVIEW ) on the 28 April 2020 to enquire about this however they couldn't help me at the branch as they said they do not deal with issues involving vehicles. Whereas to even get that information I was being chased home, after waiting an hour and a half in the queue. Had I not insisted on being assisted, I would've went home without being assisted by a ABSA representative at the branch.

I left my details to the manager who arranged someone to call me the following day. Sandy Lo from ABSA called me, the next day and gave me an alternative number to call ***) She then informed me with that the turn around time for this matter is 2 weeks . Upon receiving this number I called it and I was answered by Nompumelelo, who later muted her phone while I was still busy talking to her.

Today, 01 May 2020, the exact same debit order went off my account. Being faced with the Covid-19 pandemic ABSA has the audacity to deduct the money off my account irrespective of the high bank charges, being deducted off my account, such as the debit order fees.

This has put me in huge financial and emotional strain as I cannot pay my rent, buy food for my kids. What do you want me to feed my kids? What about the roof over my head. Having the turn around time being 2 weeks, what does ABSA expect me to eat with my kids. What should I say to my landlord?

ABSA is making millions by exploiting us the poor.
