ABSA BANK CREDIT CARD

One star is still too high a rating after what I had to go through with ABSA. They deserve a minus 10 star rating. To explain my fury and despair.......In June 2018 I was one of ABSA bank's unfortunate ***** victims as seen on Carte Blanche. R11 000 was taken *******ly from my account and no matter how long and hard I fought to get the 2 transactions reversed, I had to pay the amounts to ABSA. I have now settled the debt and have tried desperately to get ABSA to close my credit card account, which they refuse to do as I currently reside in the UK. In order to close my account, ABSA want me to go to the SA Embassy in London, make a sworn affidavit and appoint someone in South Africa (I no longer have SA contacts) to go to an ABSA branch and close the account on my behalf. That means expensive train and bus trips for me from Chartham to London and loose a day or two's worth of salary. I DO NOT want to open any ABSA account, all I need and want is for ABSA to CLOSE my credit card account. At this stage because of ABSA's refusal to close my credit card account I pay almost R100 every month bank fees. This for a facility I no longer need or use or want. I only pay the bank fees because I am an honest law abiding person. Please, ABSA , help me CLOSE my credit card account !!!!! And stop taking money from me.
