ABSA BANK Covid repayment exploitation

The first month covid sprung upon us we just got the news that we were going to level 5 lockdown . Most salaries including mine was affected . My parents lost their jobs and had to live with us during this tough time which I understand everybody was faced different challenges .

We were all stuck in the house with just going to the shops for your essential items only like the rest of the country. we were all unsure what is going on with our jobs with our lives . ABSA then sent a sms with a relief option which sounded great in the sms as it just stated very little information that if we require payment relief for 3 months we should just opt in which sounded amazing during this tough time as so much was going including the fact that i just found out I was pregnant.

ABSA didn't bother to give a call to explain any further information or failed to mention the fact that for those 3 months relief they have added 5 months more on ur term which was a total of 8 payment so was this really help that they offered ?

I'm very disgusted in the fact that no one from ABSA bothered to inform their clients who pay every month and even during this tough time still managed to keep up with payments .

Only when i called in to find out how many months I have left did I hear this news .

Payment relief for 3 months (R11700) Costed me R19 500 interest extra during a time which every one found difficult . ABSA saw the opportunity to exploit us rather than to try and help us .

This is only my sad story as I only pay a small repayment of R3900 I can only imagine the other clients who pay much more than i do .
